How to make protein balls at home with few ingredients and in a record time.

Make yourself a quick and healthy vegan snack that answers your sweet cravings.

Recipe for 9 bite-sized balls, the number will vary depending on the size of each of them.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of nuts (I used 2/3 cup cashews and 1/3 cup almonds, because that’s what I had)
  • 1/2 cup of dates
  • 2 tablespoons of protein powder (I used salted caramel)
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Instructions:

This is the easiest snack recipe you’ll ever try.

Just put all the ingredients into a food processor and blend for a few minutes.

Blending time will depend on your food processor, mine is on the weaker side so it took 3-4 minutes to blend everything properly.

You can add a very small amount of water if you find the mix too dry, but be careful not to add too much. You don’t want to add much more than 2-3 tablespoons of water.

The texture you want might look friable but when you press it together it holds its shape and when you form balls with your fingers, the batter doesn’t stick.

If you added too much water, you can always try to balance it out by adding a bit more dry ingredients like protein powder or almond mill.

Once you have a desirable consistency, roll a small amount of dough between your fingers to form balls and voilà!

Your protein balls will make for a great sweet snack on the go that gives you a fair amount of protein, which is always nice to have especially on a vegan diet.
